"The Volcanic ake outside of La fortuna Costa Rica, on the western side of Volcan Arenal is a prime spot for rainbow bass (Guapote) machaca, blue-gill, tiger bass, and a variety of other beautiful fresh water fish. Apparently that wasn’t all as we learned one beautiful afternoon! We had two boats out for the day with a friendly bragging rights competition for the biggest fish. This wasn’t exactly a fish but it did win Porsche the bragging rights for the day! While slow trolling a big lip lure a nice strike hit the line a good little fight later revealed a clam clamped down on a single treble! Our captain Tirsio Hidalgo, had never seen anything like it in 25 years on the lake."
